Well-Groomed Advice: Red Apple, Gold, and Navy

By Well Groomed

Hello, our colors are navy red and gold. The bridesmaids already have red apple dresses and I am thinking about getting a blue tux and having my groomsmen wear black tuxes. Would that look too ridiculous and what would you recommend as to the details to add to the tuxedos. – Frank

Mr. & Mrs. Well-Groomed:

Ridiculous? No! In fact, a navy blue tux would look real sharp on you – while surrounded by your grooms-men-in-black. Case in point:

To bring your color palette in, here are 2 ideas for you:

Go Gold

Poised and stately, the gold accent adds elegance to your gang. Bow ties or solid gold neck ties on all the guys followed by the same gold hued pocket squares – you can then add matching boutonnières with a touch of red. Note: don’t be afraid to play with pattern too: i.e. navy gold polka dot tie or striped pocket square. { Product options included below }.

Go Red

Red apple so fresh and crisp – gives you a modern look with a fun twist. Feel free to add your personality via the tiny details like the red button hole – and black and white button up on the shirt, to match the stripe element on the groomsmen’s boutonniere. { Product options included below }.
