from Andy: I haven't purchased a suit in many years, given the informality of my profession, but I needed something for our engagement shoot. The couple of suits I owned didn't fit properly. Either I was sized incorrectly or the suits were poorly tailored, they just weren't appropriate for the moment.
more from Andy: A couple friends recommended I go with a custom suit, but it wouldn't have been ready in time. I did a little shopping around some suit shops in NYC, but the suits they recommended fit and looked like my old ones. My last top was J.Crew, my go to place for my regular attire.
I tried on a few sizes and was pleased to finda a suit that fit me as well as it did. I only had the sleeves taken up 1/4 of an inch, nothing else. The blue checkered shirt was also a J.Crew purchase, and I chose it to brighten up the suit. The red socks were for Jamie and symbolic of her Chinese heritage. I didn't want to be too formal and to keep from overdoing it, the tie and pocket square were left out.Did I mention that Andy also styled his fiance, Jamie, for their shoot? Here grey, fur-trimmed coat matched his suit to a "T".
Andy: As for matching my beautiful fiance, Jamie, she wore a stunning cream colored dress that goes with everything, so I just needed to keep up.
Andy, thank you for sharing a glimpse into your suit hunt. You and Jamie looked great!
