Well-Groomed Gift Guide: For the College Guy

If you're a young groom, or just happen to have a cool young cousin, chances are one of your groomsmen is still in college. Grab a gift or two to get him to campus in style.

Style Snapshot: Men In Pink (and Purple)

After seeing the slew of Valentine's wedding shoots flooding the blogosphere this week, your honey's bound to try to float the idea of an all-pink color palette. With that in mind, I figured I'd help you guys out by scrounging up some examples of guys wearing girly hues for their weddings and e-sessions.

Well-Groomed Q&A: Where Can I Find Eco-Friendly Suits?

Q: I've been hunting high and low for a[n] eco-friendly suit for my fiance, but to no avail. I'd love to hear about any eco-friendly suit options you've come across. --Best, Brittny

A: Hi Brittny. After a lot of Googling and hunting down several now defunct brands, I understand your frustration. At one time (around 2009), nearly every store (including Sears) jumped on the eco-friendly/organic clothing bandwagon and churned out something for men. I guess the trend didn't really catch on or maybe enough buyers weren't willing to pay the additional cost to get a hemp shirt. Either way, most organic/eco--friendly sites feature casual wear, not suits or formal wear. Rawganique is one option, but their selection is very limited, and I can't really vouch for their quality.

I struck out on this one, so I'll open it up to you guys. Do you know of any brands currently producing eco-friendly/organic men's suits?

Well-Groomed Gift Guide: Valentine's Day 2012

My wife is back with February's gift guide for your girl, which is obviously Valentine's themed.
from Shauna: Just because it's Valentine's Day doesn't mean you have to hit your lady over the head with a ton of heart bedazzled junk. Express your feelings in some clever, unconventional ways to get the most bang for your buck.

Nuzzling bunnies make adorable ring holders, a Forget Me Knot ring, and Cupid's arrow earrings are sweet without being cutesy. Pink-hued home decor items are also a good bet, like paper urchins and a laser cut mobile. Still not quite right for your girl's personality? Maybe an Anatomy of Love poster is a better fit.

W-G Gift Guide: The Luminous Portrait

Remember my Gift Guide for the Camera Guy? Here's another gift to add to the list. My fellow Lover.ly contributor (and noted photog) Elizabeth Messina has written her first book, and any budding shutterbug worth their salt would want to crack the spine on this bad boy.

The Luminous Portrait is available for pre-order on Amazon and focuses on shooting all kinds of sessions (wedding, maternity, family, etc.) exclusively in natural light.

Don't know any newbie photogs? No problem. Brides would love a groom to gift them with this book, too. Sections on weddings and boudoir sessions are a surefire hit.

Gmail Purgatory

Emailed W-G and gotten no response? I realized recently that only some of my W-G emails were being delivered to my inbox. Others were disappearing, never to be seen again. They weren't in my spam or trash, and there's no way to retrieve them now that the issue has been fixed.

If you've emailed me at hey@wellgroomedblog.com in the last month or so about advertising on W-G, submitting pics, or needing style advice please resend those messages. I apologize for the lack of response. Just know that if I'd gotten the message, I wouldn't have left you guys hanging. Thanks for understanding.
